About Robert Weitz

Mr. Weitz matriculated for degrees at Rutgers College in New Jersey and at the University of Chicago. He also studied at Columbia University in New York City.

Work experience included free-lance photojournalism for CBS News, and he was assistant to the Conservator at the Art Institute Museum in Chicago. For 33 years, Mr. Weitz was a Professor of Art and Design at Chicago State University, also serving as Department Chair and as the founding Curator of the University Gallery Program.

For the past several years, he has traveled the U.S., Europe and Russia, photographing
many sites and then creating large-scale digital panoramas and photographs with the use of Photoshop.

Many images subtly recall elements, compositional motifs and designs of famous historical works of art. At times the effect is accidental. At other times Robert enjoys playing with historical compositional designs that he has admired over the years.

While creating digital works of art and panoramas is time-intensive and very detailed work, Robert Weitz enjoys creating interesting images with his camera and enhancing them with his computer.
